How to humanize AI product descriptions without losing the facts
By GPTHumanizer · Writing guide
A shopper needs to know what the product is, whether it fits their needs and what they will receive. An AI product description can sound polished while making those answers harder to find. Humanizing the copy means making the buying decision easier: lead with useful details, explain relevant benefits and keep every specification intact.
1. Build a small fact sheet before you rewrite
Keep the verified product information beside your draft. Write down the product type, variant, dimensions, material, capacity, included accessories and care instructions. Add limits that could change a buying decision, such as a cover that is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Use the current product record; do not fill gaps from a similar-looking item.
For the fictional notebook example below, the facts are: A5 size, 160 blank cream pages, a linen cover, an elastic closure, a design that opens flat, and two colors—blue and olive. The example does not establish recycled content, ink resistance, a warranty or a country of manufacture. None of those claims belongs in its rewrite.
2. Replace generic praise with a reason to care
Start by crossing out phrases such as “the perfect companion,” “premium quality” and “designed to meet your needs.” If the sentence loses no useful information, leave them out. Then connect a supported feature to an ordinary use: blank pages leave room for sketches; an elastic closure keeps the notebook closed. Avoid turning a feature into an untested performance promise.
Put the information in the order a shopper needs it. A notebook description can start with size and page type. A replacement component may need compatibility first. If you do not know the buyer’s main concern, check actual support questions or customer feedback instead of inventing a persona and treating it as evidence.
3. Choose a voice that fits the product
Read the description aloud as an answer to a customer asking, “What is this like to use?” Short sentences and ordinary verbs usually help. Keep precise material names and measurements even when they sound technical. Do not replace a familiar product term with a strange synonym simply to make the wording different.
For these two mugs, use one manual style rule: lead with capacity and material, then state the care instructions. These fictional descriptions are original examples edited by hand, not recorded tool outputs.
A before: “Meet your perfect desk companion: our 300 ml stoneware mug has a matte blue glaze and is dishwasher-safe.”
A after: “Choose a 300 ml stoneware mug with a matte blue glaze. It is dishwasher-safe.”
B before: “Elevate every sip with premium style. This 450 ml porcelain mug has a white glaze and is hand-wash only.”
B after: “Choose a 450 ml porcelain mug with a white glaze. Hand-wash only.”
Both edits use the same approach while keeping each mug’s capacity, material, finish and care instructions. “Both mugs are dishwasher-safe” would copy A’s care claim onto B and contradict “hand-wash only.”
The rule guides your manual review. Choosing a tone in GPTHumanizer does not train a brand voice or apply rules across a catalog.
4. Compare facts, omissions and new claims
Make three passes through the proposed rewrite. First, mark each fact from your sheet that appears in the copy. Next, check for an important fact that disappeared. Finally, underline every new claim and identify its source. “Linen cover” becoming “sustainable linen cover” is a new claim, even though only one word changed.
Watch quantities especially closely: 160 pages is not necessarily 160 sheets. Do not silently convert units, round dimensions, add accessories or change care instructions. If a phrase could mislead a buyer, restore the precise wording or verify it before publishing.
Before: “This pencil case offers premium organization for your daily essentials. It measures 21 x 8 x 5 cm and has one zipped compartment. The polyester case is available in navy or grey. Pencils are not included.”
After: “This polyester pencil case has one zipped compartment and measures 21 x 8 x 5 cm. Choose navy or grey. Pencils are not included.”
Incorrect edit: “Keep 30 pencils dry in this waterproof case.”
This fictional manual edit removes generic praise while keeping dimensions, material, compartment, colors and the excluded contents. The incorrect version adds a capacity and water-protection promise that the source does not provide. A precise number can be an invented claim too.
5. Use the humanizer as a drafting step
The example button loads a short, fictional notebook draft into GPTHumanizer. It does not submit a rewrite or publish anything. Choose a tone, sign in and use your word allowance when you are ready. New accounts receive 100 words to try the tool. Compare its suggestion with the fact sheet before keeping any edits.
For your own listing, replace the example with a draft based on verified information. Remove private supplier details that are not needed for the edit. The before-and-after copy below is an editorial demonstration, not a measured result from the tool or a promise about the output you will receive.
Will humanizing a description improve SEO?
Changing the wording alone does not establish a search ranking benefit. Google’s guidance emphasizes useful, reliable content and warns against generating pages at scale without adding value. Use the product name and relevant terms naturally, answer real buying questions and provide information that distinguishes this item. A rewrite cannot replace accurate product facts or evidence of customer demand.
After publishing, look at the page’s search queries and how visitors use it. Pair search data with add-to-cart or purchase behavior when that measurement is available. A more conversational paragraph may be easier to read, but you still need observed results before calling it a conversion improvement.
Before and after: an editing example
Original draft
This A5 notebook is designed to support your everyday note-taking needs. It features 160 blank cream pages, a linen cover and an elastic closure. The notebook opens flat, allowing you to write or sketch across a spread. It is available in blue and olive.
Edited example
Write or sketch on 160 blank cream pages in this A5 notebook. It opens flat for working across a spread, with a linen cover and elastic closure to keep it closed. Choose blue or olive.
Both versions describe the same fictional notebook. The edit leads with the use, keeps the size, page count, page color, binding behavior, cover, closure and color options, and removes a generic opening. It adds no material certification, ink-performance claim or warranty.
Opens the original draft for you to edit. Sign in when you choose to rewrite; new accounts receive 100 words. If you already have a saved draft, we’ll keep it.
